The NG philosophy of sensitivity in design and production is reflected in this collection of scarves which are truly artisan. Created from the finest quality yarn made from Escorial wool, they are either woven or hand made. The scarves offer a beautifully understated, modern and unique aesthetic and are limited in edition.
Escorial, is the rare and luxurious wool of a small sheep. Originally from the Spanish Royal flocks of El Escorial, today the sheep are only to be found in three flocks in Australia and New Zealand. The Escorial difference is in the heart of the fibre. The suppleness and fluidity of the Escorial yarn is what makes it so exceptional.
To create the woven scarves in this collection two artworks by New Zealand artists, Jason Grieg and Rob Hood have been specifically chosen to be translated. These pieces combine the vision of the artist’s imagery with the sensitivity of the woven fibre and contemporary design.
